Dear Mountaineers,

With summer finally upon us here in Switzerland – and it seems like it took forever to get here – we enter a time of the year when the children are off from school and many people usher off to their holidays from mid-July to mid-August. Your Mountain Vision team, being the family-oriented group that we are, is no different as many of us will – in some way, shape or form – be taking some time off to enjoy some quality time with our families.

With today’s brief Mountain Vision Update, I wanted to take the opportunity to make a few points on the coming weeks as to where we will be, what you will hear from us, and what you can expect as the summer rolls into fall. What follows is the cure for the summertime blues…

We’ve mentioned it a few times over the past two months, but want to give you this last chance to meet part of the Mountain Vision team, Frank Suess and I, in Las Vegas next week for our BFI Inner Circle Briefing, taking place on Wednesday, July 10th, at the Planet Hollywood resort.

This Inner Circle Briefing will be a condensed version of our spring and fall Briefings we’ve held the past two years. We will be taking the time to discuss our big picture, go over the current precious metals markets, consider the impacts of FATCA and other US regulations, and just cover as many of our attendees’ questions as possible.

The Briefing will take place in the Celebrity room 5 of the Planet Hollywood conference area. We will start the program at 1:00pm sharp, take a short break during the program and wrap up around 5:00pm. Frank and I will be joined by the managing director of Global Gold, Claudio Grass, where he will lend a hand in discussing the future for precious metals.

Our Briefing is free but it is also an invitation-only event limited to our clients, contacts, and Mountain Vision readers. There are a few spaces left, so please let us know ASAP if you would like to join us for the Briefing.

Following our Briefing, we will then be participating in the FreedomFest conference with Global Gold which will be a sponsor and exhibitor for the event. It is still possible for our Mountaineers to register for the FreedomFest under their ‘Early Bird’ rates. All you need to do is mention “BFI” when registering online or by phone, and you’ll be treated to the reduced registration. It will also be possible to register on site.

Do let us know immediately if you have any questions, as we will be boarding our flights soon for the searing heat of Las Vegas. Feel free to contact me personally at

We are excited to be able to announce our fall, 2013, BFI Inner Circle Briefing dates and locations. Our next Briefings will be in Austin, Texas on Monday, October 21st, and Newport Beach, California on Thursday, October 24th.

Be sure to save those dates and we’ll provide more information on those events later in August.

Over the next few weeks, in lieu of our regular Updates, we will be sharing some of our Mountain Vision “Classics”. These are some of the articles we’ve written over the past few years that, in hindsight, we feel still warrant a review considering the current economic, geo-political, and regulatory environment.

You will find it interesting on how much has changed – or even more so how little has changed in many cases – over the course of time.

You are all aware how the format of our Mountain Vision Updates and periodicals have changed over the past year, but what many may not realize is that at our website,, we are constantly updating the content so there is a continuous inflow of new information and articles always available to our readers. You can read past articles, hear about where your Mountain Vision team will be, and see many articles of other well-know writers in our field.

Check it out…you may be surprised at what we’ve been doing at the Mountain Vision. In any case, it is a good idea to check in from time-to-time to make sure you aren’t missing any important news.

In closing, while your Mountain Vision team might not be always available, BFI’s Client Advisory team will be, working as diligently as ever to answer questions, help with investments, and advise on possibilities. If any questions should arise and you need answers as quickly as possible, please feel free to contact our BFI Consulting and BFI Wealth Management teams at and, respectively.

Never worry, never fear, your Mountain Vision team will soon again be here. I wish you all a great summer and we look forward to seeing you in Las Vegas, Austin, Newport Beach, or anywhere else our paths may cross.
